The Las Virgenes-Malibu Council of Governments (COG) is a Joint Powers Authority of the cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu and Westlake Village. Through the COG, the cities cooperatively and voluntarily work together to address regional priorities and matters of mutual interest.
Since the passage of the Los Angeles County sales tax measure, in 2008, the COG’s Governing Board has elected to focus on highway improvements in all of the member cities. At the direction of the Governing Board, the COG’s executive director has negotiated with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority to procure over $128 million in Measure R Highway funds for these projects, which include bridges and ramps, road widening, park and ride lots and related safety improvements.
Below are some of the projects in our region that have been funded by Measure R, the County’s sales tax measure.
